Fun Ways to Help You Survive March Break, Youngs Insurance, Ontario

We are certain you are looking forward to spending extra days with your children, but you may be unsure how to spend your time.  We’ve highlighted some activities that will help you survive everyone home and keep March Break fun for the entire family!

7 Fun Family Activities That Won’t Break The Bank!

#1 Swim the Day Away |

Just because you’re not going away to a beach vacation doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy a pool!  Bring the children to your local community pool and let them have fun swimming the day away.

#2 Arts, Crafts & DIY Projects |

Let your children get creative by pulling out all the crafting supplies you have.  Check out BuzzFeed’s epically easy and clever DIY projects. You can even give them a project to work on and see what they design…then get their help cleaning it all up.

#3 Game Day |

Spend the day playing board games as a family; it’s the perfect way to spend time together and have fun.

#4 Outdoor Fun |

Chances are we’ll experience freezing temperatures and snow will still be on the ground.  Spend the day outside – go skating at a local rink, build a snowman and go toboganning.  You can finish the day with a warm cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows. Make sure you check out our blog Ten Fun Indoor Activities To Try This Winter.

#5 Cooking Class |

March Break is the perfect time to teach your children how to cook or bake.  Ask them to pick out a recipe or two that they want to try, then gather the ingredients and get cooking!  Your children will learn something new and they’ll have fun doing it.  Then you can all enjoy a family dinner together that they helped make!

#6 Volunteer and Donate |

Ask your children to find a local charity that might need a few extra helping hands over the break, which they’d like to support.  You can also have them pick out some of their gently used clothing/toys they no longer play with and donate them to other children in need.  Check out some of our #GiveBackOntario initiatives to see if there’s one in your area that interests you!

#7 Pyjama Day |

What better way to end off the week than with a relaxing day in your pyjamas unwinding from all the fun you’ve had.  Host a pyjama day and start by sleeping in and then making breakfast together.  Following a late breakfast, prep a bunch of “fun” snacks for the afternoon. From there, you can spend the afternoon watching movies and snacking!

We hope you found our tips helpful and we hope that you have a very enjoyable and safe March Break!
