Position Type: Full-time
Salary Range: 50k-60k
Full Time- Weekends and non-traditional hours

Youngs Insurance Brokers is seeking a dynamic, creative, and highly organized Community Engagement & Marketing Specialist to strengthen our presence both in the community and across digital platforms.

This is a marketing-first role focused on storytelling, brand visibility, event execution, and content production. The successful candidate will represent the brokerage externally while also planning, producing, and executing marketing initiatives that support community partnerships, staff engagement, and business growth.

This role requires someone confident on camera, strong in written communication, skilled in graphic design, proficient in video editing, and experienced in event coordination. You must be comfortable being both strategic and hands-on — from planning an activation to designing the graphics, capturing and editing the recap video, and writing the post-event content.

Primary Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Brand Representation

  • Represent Youngs Insurance Brokers at community events, sponsorships, trade shows, and association meetings
  • Act as a professional, polished ambassador of the brand in public-facing environments
  • Identify opportunities for increased community visibility and partnership growth
  • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, associations, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate post-event follow-up with internal teams when appropriate

Event Planning & Execution

  • Lead the planning and execution of community-facing events and activations
  • Coordinate logistics, including vendor communication, materials, signage, timelines, staffing, and on-site setup
  • Manage branded event materials and displays
  • Develop promotional strategies for events (pre-event marketing, live coverage, and post-event recap)
  • Track event participation and engagement outcomes

Content Creation & Video Production

  • Lead the creation of short-form, social-first video content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Serve as an on-camera spokesperson for event recaps, educational videos, and brand initiatives
  • Capture high-quality photo and video content at events and within offices
  • Edit video content into polished, platform-ready formats (subtitles, thumbnails, graphics, captions)
  • Develop content calendars aligned with marketing campaigns and seasonal initiatives
  • Write engaging captions, scripts, blog-style content, and calls-to-action aligned with brand voice

Graphic Design & Creative Development

  • Design social media graphics, event signage, digital ads, posters, and promotional materials
  • Create branded templates for recurring campaigns and initiatives
  • Maintain consistency with Youngs Insurance Brokers’ brand standards across all materials
  • Collaborate with leadership and marketing on creative direction for campaigns

Staff & Culture Engagement

  • Support internal engagement initiatives, contests, and office-level campaigns
  • Capture and amplify employee stories, office highlights, and community involvement
  • Contribute written and visual content for internal newsletters and communications

Performance & Reporting

  • Monitor content engagement metrics and recommend improvements
  • Track campaign and event performance indicators
  • Maintain organized documentation of partnerships, initiatives, and creative assets

Qualifications

Required:

  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Media, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrated experience in content creation, graphic design, social media management, and video editing
  • Strong writing skills (social posts, captions, scripts, short-form articles, promotional copy)
  • Experience planning and executing events or activations
  • Confident, professional on-camera presence
  • Proficiency with creative and content tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Premiere Pro, Meta Business Suite, or similar)
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally and attend evening/weekend events as required

Preferred / Assets

  • Experience working in the insurance industry
  • Experience supporting a multi-location brand
  • Basic understanding of analytics and digital optimization
  • Photography and videography fundamentals (lighting, audio, framing)
  • Experience working within established brand standards and approval processes
