Summary

Youngs Insurance Brokers Inc. is looking for a motivated and experienced Personal Lines Team Leader to join our Niagara Falls office. This is a one-year contract opportunity with the potential for renewal based on performance and business needs. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead, coach, and support a talented team of personal lines brokers while helping shape a high-performing, client-focused service environment.

You will play a key part in supporting service excellence, client retention, sales growth, compliance, and operational efficiency across an established personal lines book of business.

Employment Term

This position is a one-year contract with the opportunity for renewal or continuation based on individual performance, team needs, and overall business requirements. Responsibilities 

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of personal lines brokers to achieve service, retention, and sales objectives.
  • Train new and junior staff, provide ongoing mentoring, and support professional development within the team.
  • Assign and monitor daily workloads to ensure files, renewals, endorsements, and client requests are completed within service level standards.
  • Review complex new business applications, renewal files, policy changes, and remarketing opportunities to ensure accuracy and alignment with insurer guidelines.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews and monitor compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, underwriting rules, and binding authority.
  • Support client retention by assisting with escalated service concerns, coverage questions, policy changes, and claim-related issues.
  • Identify and promote cross-selling, upselling, and account rounding opportunities within the book of business.
  • Track team performance metrics, workflows, and service trends using broker management systems such as EPIC.
  • Collaborate with management to improve processes, resolve operational challenges, and ensure consistent client service delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and internal team members.
  • Provide front-line underwriting guidance and assist team members with complex risk placement decisions.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative team environment focused on shared success.
  • Role requirements may be subject to change to accommodate business requirements.

Licence/Certification

  • Valid RIBO license required.
  • Professional insurance designation is a plus

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Strong personal lines insurance knowledge.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an insurance broker, with at least 1 year of experience managing, supervising, mentoring, or leading brokers in an insurance brokerage environment.
  • Familiarity with underwriting guidelines, insurer portals, binding authority, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Good computer skills are required, including fluency with broker management systems; experience with EPIC and ARS is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in a contact center environment is considered an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage workflows, and support a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Proven experience managing a high volume of clients while maintaining strong service standards, accuracy, and responsiveness.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex client issues professionally and effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and general computer applications.
