Going on a lot of motorcycle rides can be taxing to your body if you aren’t taking care of it properly! Try out these stretches before your next motorcycle ride and especially before and after you go on a long motorcycle ride!

Motorcycle Ride Stretches

1. Cobra Stretch

This stretch will help stretch out your lower back before a ride. While lying on the floor on your stomach, take your hands in a push-up position and straighten your arms while keeping your hips touching the floor. Just your upper body will be lifted, and your lower back will be arched. Hold this position for 10 seconds at a time and repeat 3-5 times.

2. Cat Cow Stretch

This stretch focuses on your upper and lower back. Kneeling on the floor on all fours, have your arms shoulder length apart and straight while your palms are flat on the floor and your back is flat. This position is called Table-Top Pose. From Table-Top Pose, arch your back to the sky to reach Cat stretch and hold for 3-5 seconds. Then arch your back the opposite way, bringing your chest away from the floor and stomach towards the floor into Cow stretch. Hold this for 3-5 seconds. Repeat this stretch 5-10 times.

3. Child's Pose

When you do this stretch before a long motorcycle ride, your upper body and lats will thank you! Start by kneeling on the floor, bring your butt to your heels and stretch your arms straight and forward onto the ground. Keep them close beside your head and palms face down. Hold this for 30 seconds and repeat 3-5 times.

You’ll notice the difference after doing these stretches and you may even enjoy your motorcycle rides a bit more too! Making sure you feel comfortable on a motorcycle ride isn’t just a pleasure but it also helps to keep you safe!
